Classical Association Conference 22 - 24 March 2024

The Dept of Classics and Ancient History is delighted to announce that Warwick is hosting the UK's Classical Association Conference, from Friday 22nd to Sunday 24th March 2024.

We would like to highlight the following events:

  • Performance by Canadian poet and essayist Anne Carson as incoming President of the Classical Association 
  • Keynote lecture by Yannis Hamilakis (Joukowsky Family Professor of Archaeology and Professor of Modern Greek Studies at Brown University) on ‘Undoing Monumental Racecraft: The Acropolis Otherwise’
  • Film screening in Warwick Arts Centre - Museum of Dreams: The Classical World in Silent Cinema (presented by Prof. Maria Wyke, UCL)
  • Performance of Ben Jonson's Octavia, adapted and directed by David Wiles in the FAB Agora.
  • Black Classicists Exhibition, freely accessible in the FAB Agora 7th-24th March
