This interactive workshop introduces the numerous types of parish records held in the Warwickshire County Record Office. Focusing on the centuries between Reformation and Enlightenment, when these originally ecclesiastical communities assumed local government duties (particularly relating to poor relief), participants will be given an initial overview by Beat Kümin (University of Warwick, My-Parish Network), followed by the opportunity to see specific books and accounts under the guidance of Sharon Forman (Warwickshire County Record Office).

There will also be ample time to ask questions on subjects ranging from communal organisation via religious practices to record conservation.

The event forms part of the 'Warwick University Talks' series for the 'Warwick Words' festival.
