In the latest episode, Tom takes the reins in a special session with an external co-design and co-creation expert (Tom Baines) we have a special episode. Together they discuss and reflect on their paper at the RAISE 2023 (Researching, Advancing & Inspiring Student Engagement). RAISE is a worldwide network of staff and students in Higher Education who work to research and promote Student Engagement. The RAISE Conference took place on September 6-7th 2023 at the University of Leeds with a focus on ‘a sense of belonging’. They ran a session together, with the title ‘Designing with, not just for: Inclusive and design-led student engagement’, which had over 60 people attend, representing a range of roles and universities, as well as those from private, public, and third sector organisations. In the session, participants spoke about barriers to co-design in Higher Education and the impact that the 'We are Chemistry' programme has had on the student experience at Warwick. In the first episode of a brand new season of Pathways, recent graduate Jess joins Adam and Tom to reflect on the past year's 'We are Chemistry' programme, discussing their highlights and lowlights from 2022/23. They also provide a sneak peek into the new opportunities that await in the 2023/24 academic year, including new co-designed student-led activities, a brand new Chemistry Student Common Room, and a new careers support and development stream. Tune in to get a comprehensive overview of what's in store for Warwick Chemistry in the upcoming year through the We are Chemistry programme, including our projects around empowering Women Chemists, supporting Black Chemists through Project InVISIBLE, and our work on a project with King's College and the University of York to provide greater support and resources for neurodiverse students and staff.
