During Welcome Week there will be a full programme of events designed to help you settle into the University and the Department of Computer Science. The welcome team will be in touch with more information about university-wide events and how to access your personal timetable with core events. There will also be academic events and are run by the department and it's important you attend these in order to get the best possible start to your studies.

Your first lecture relating to a taught module is on Monday in the first week of the teaching term (that is, the week after Welcome Week). There is a full schedule of teaching activities during this week. Many modules will have associated seminars or lab sessions but your module leaders will inform you of which group you will be in once the module has started.

We will discuss your timetable during our Welcome Week sessions. However, once you have an IT Services username and password, you can access details of your core lectures on Tabula.

You'll also receive notification about this in your pre-arrival email from the University. As noted above, your timetable will initially contain only your lectures for your core modules.

You do not need to select your modules until after you arrive. The deadline for selecting your modules is the end of Week 3, giving you plenty of time to make decisions based on your interests and discussions with your personal tutor. Some students even attend the first few lectures of all the modules they might like, so they can make a more informed choice. We'll be talking more about module selection at your induction meetings but do feel free to browse the modules available to you on our Teaching pages.

Your personal tutor is a member of academic staff who will keep an eye on your academic progress throughout your time at Warwick and meet you regularly to discuss how you are getting on. They can provide guidance on a range of issues such as how to choose your optional modules and advise on additional sources of support should the need arise.
