Ayse Sunar

Please email me at if you would like to discuss any of my roles and experience.

Background

I studied mathematics in my bachelor's degree at Gazi University in Ankara. I then pursued my Master's degree in Intelligent Tutoring Systems at Nagoya University and a PhD in Big Educational Data Analysis and Recommender Systems at the University of Southampton. I was also a postdoctoral researcher at the Jozef Stefan Institute in Slovenia, contributing to research on Open Educational Resources recommendations as part of the Horizon project X5GON.

Teaching

I have been teaching a range of modules in Computer Science since 2018 and, since the autumn of 2023, at Warwick. The modules I have (co-)organised so far:

CS908

CS430/910

Research

I have experience in research on behavioural analysis and modelling to gain insights into user behaviour and develop a recommender system based on past behaviour in online courses and content using data analytics. You can view the publications resulting from my research on my Google Scholar profile.

My current research interests include natural language applications with Big Data, technology-enhanced learning, recommender systems, machine learning, and artificial intelligence. I am actively taking part in the newly emerging Computer Science Education Research Group.
