Ayse Saliha Sunar

Hello, I joined the department as a Teaching Fellow in September 2023. You can find information about my background and ongoing works in this page. Please email me at if you would like to discuss about any of my roles and experience.

Background

I studied mathematics in my bachelor's degree at Gazi University in Ankara. I then did my Master's degree on Intelligent Tutoring Systems at Nagoya University and a PhD on Big Educational Data Analysis and Recommender Systems at the University of Southampton. I have taught as an assistant professor at Bitlis Eren University in Turkey. I was also a postdoctoral researcher at the Jozef Stefan Institute in Slovenia to contribute to research on Open Educational Resources recommendation as part of the Horizon project X5GON.

Teaching

I have been teaching a range of modules in Computer Science since 2018. At Warwick in autumn 2023 I will be involved in the following modules:

CS132-15 Computer Organisation & Architecture

CS345-15 Sensor Networks and Mobile Data Communications

CS352 Project Management for Computer Science

Research

I have experience in research on behavioural analysis and modelling to gain insights into user behaviour and develop a recommender system based on past behaviour in online courses and contents using Big Data analysis techniques. You can view the publications resulting from this research on my Google Scholar profile.

My current research interests include natural language applications with Big Data, technology-enhanced learning, recommender systems and machine learning. I encourage 3rd year students to contact me if you are interested in the above topics for your final project and beyond.
