Further adaptations of the basic shopping construal
Two further extensions of the shopping-with-stock construal further illustrate the principles discussed previously.
The shopping-with-stock construal can be transformed into a flexible educational resource in essentially the same way as the basic shopping construal was transformed. The screenshot below depicts an extension of the construal in which the answers to the questions on the right-hand side of the picture display can be hidden or revealed by clicking on the labelling text on their immediate left. This makes it possible to exercise the construal to scaffold learning in the same way that was discussed in connection with the basic shopping construal as similarly extended. To load this extension to the shopping-with-stock construal, you should first load the shopping-with-stock construal then copy-and-paste the contents of the files oer1ext.js-e and oer2ext.js-e into the Input Window and press Submit.
The shopping-with-stock construal can also be transformed into a 'continental version' that works with euros rather than UK pounds and has text in Greek rather than English. The screenshot below depicts an adaptation of the construal that has been made by Emmanouil Zoulias. It incorporates an additional feature, whereby the learner is advised via a message at the foot of the picture canvas whether they have enough money in total to pay for the items selected. The colour of this message is coloured green or red accordingly. To load this variant of the shopping-with-stock construal, you should copy-and-paste the contents of the file continental2.js-e into the Input Window and press Submit.
