Innovation 2023 Showcase

Final Showcase

Congratulations to everyone who took part!

This year 11 brave students took part in our annual DCS innovation competition, where they pitched their innovative individual and group projects in our annual Dragons’ Den-style event.

Workshop

This year we had judges from IBM, the DeepTech Incubator and Warwick Enterprise, who grilled the contestants on their business plans and tested their business acumen. We heard some fantastic pitches and the judges had a difficult task!

It was really good and I was impressed the number of AI related ideas - I would like to encourage a number of the students to apply to join the deep tech centre.

If you could direct them to this webpage and to consider applying to join the next cohort - http://www.deeptechinnovation.org

A big congratulations to this year’s winner, Jasmine Brown, who showed that she had not only the best tap-dance moves, but also the sharpest entrepreneurial skills with her ingenious AI choreography platform “Tappyography”.

The two runners up were Kailo Bouskila, who is helping ecologists stick to the path, and the group project Conflux (Owen Connors, Edward Upton, Aidan Filby, Bilaal Latif and Joshua Aubrey) who are reimagining the future of video streaming.

Well done to all of the contestants, and thanks to all those who came to show their support.
