Post-Doctoral Research Prizes 2020

  • Dr Collette Guy has been awarded the Faculty Post-Doctoral Research Prize for Life Sciences for her paper on 'Targeting extracellular glycans: tuning multimeric boronic acids for pathogen-selective killing of Mycobacterium tuberculosis'. Collette is based in Dr Liz Fullam's group but also works with the Gibson group in Chemistry.
  • Dr Ed Hill has been chosen as one of the winners from Mathematics of the Faculty Post-Doctoral Research Prize for his paper 'Seasonal influenza: Modelling approaches to capture immunity propagation'. Ed works with Dr Mike Tildesley and Professor Matt Keeling on modelling the spread of disease, as well as collaborating with other members of the Life Sciences, Mathematics and Medical School departments.

New Dean of Students

RebeccaDr Rebecca Freeman has been appointed as the new Dean of Students from September 2019. The purpose of the role is to operate at institutional level to support the enhancement of the student experience through new and improved engagement strategies, and to ensure that the academic pastoral needs of students are considered in University-wide strategic developments and delivery.

Raising Awareness on Bullying and Harassment -13 June 2019

On Thursday 13 June 2019, the School of Life Sciences and Warwick Medical School Athena SWAN committees will jointly be hosting an event on 'Raising Awareness on Bullying and Harassment'.

This FREE event will take place at the Gibbet Hill Campus, University of Warwick.

Papin Prizes 2019 - Shortlist Success

Ian at microscopeA huge congratulations to Ian Hands-Portman who has been shortlisted for a Papin Prize.

These are prestigious awards to be made to technicians across the UK and Ireland who have demonstrated excellence in their field. Ian has been shortlisted for both the core facility and outreach categories.
