Felipe Lagos

I am a postdoctoral researcher in the Astronomy and Astrophysics group at the University of Warwick since May2022.

Research Interests

I am currently working with Boris GänsickeLink opens in a new window on the characterization of the gaseous component of disks around white dwarfs with the main goal of understanding their origin, structure and chemical composition. The strategy to achieve the latter combines photoionization simulations from CLOUDYLink opens in a new window plus custom scripts to model the observed intensities and shapes of double-peaked emission lines in polluted white dwarfs.

I am also interested on post-mass transfer binaries (in particular post-common envelope binaries), dynamical evolution of hierarchical triple systems, survival of planets at the late stages of stellar evolution and data reduction/analysis of high contrast images using angular differential imaging.
