Simon Walker

My interests are mostly in the detection of extrasolar planets through the transit method, but also eclipsing objects in general including binary stars and Kuiper-belt objects. I enjoy writing software and contributing to open source projects.

Major scientific contributions

NGTS - Software development, analysis tools

WASP - Detectability study

Photometry packages

  • NGTSPhot - Aperture photometry pipeline designed for the NGTS project but applicable elsewhere
  • PhotomErrors - Code for calculating the errors associated with photometry processes
  • DilutionEstimation - Estimating the distribution of blended objects in a field
