There will be various social events during the conference. In addition to the three main events described below, there will also be beer and poster sessions on Monday and Wednesday evening.
Opening reception on campus (Sunday 24 July)
From 6pm to 10pm (food served from 7pm to 8pm) on 24 July, a BBQ dinner reception will be held on campus in the Cryfield Pavilion (see Local Information for a map). Beer and food including vegetarian options will be provided.
Banquet at the Coombe Abbey in Coventry (Tuesday 26 July)
On the evening of 26 July, the banquet will be held at the Coombe Abbey in the outskirts of Coventry at a cost of £40 per person (£60 for extra guests). We have now reached the full capacity of 120 persons. It will be a three-choice menu with vegetarian options available. All participants will be transported by bus both ways from the University of Warwick. Before the formal dinner (~8 PM) there will be a 1 hour reception (~7 PM). The exact timing for buses will be discussed at the conference.
Excursion to Stratford-upon-Avon (Thursday 28 July)
After lunch on 28 July, we will visit the medieval market town Stratford-upon-Avon which is also the 16th-century birthplace of William Shakespeare. The town is on the tip of the Cotswolds, England's largest area of outstanding natural beauty. Stratford-upon-Avon is about 16 miles from campus, and participants will be taken from and to the campus by bus.
In the evening, you will have the option to see Shakespeare's "Hamlet" performed at Royal Shakespeare Theatre (7:15pm). Tickets (£30 to £55) are selling fast, so if you wish to see the play, we strongly encourage that you book the tickets as soon as possible.
All participants who have requested to go will receive a bus coupon in their conference package. If you would like to bring a guest or have now decided to go, there will be (free) coupons available at the registration desk. The buses will leave at 14h30 and return at 20h00 and 22h15 (after the play). There will be a sign-up sheet to choose your return time.
