Cold Atoms

Research in cold atoms encompasses non-equilibrium condensation in dissipative and driven quantum systems, Bose-Einstein condensation, macroscopic coherence and superfluidity in semiconductor microstructures (excitons, polaritons, magnons), and ultra-cold atomic Fermi gases, BCS-BEC crossover, Feshbach resonances, dynamical effects in Fermi gases. The research involves collaboration with our partner Universities in the Midlands Physics Alliance.
