A ground-breaking alliance of ten European universities – including the University of Warwick – has been granted legal status as a not-for-profit institution during an event at the European Parliament.

Research reveals “climate-change complacency” across Europe

Most European citizens do not particularly care about climate change. That’s the striking finding from new research led by Warwick Economics on the views of 70,000 randomly sampled European men and women. Only 5% described themselves as “extremely worried” about climate change, while the climate and the environment ranked only fifth in people’s overall views about priorities.

University of Ljubljana to lead new European university network

A university alliance founded by the UK’s University of Warwick, L’Université Paris Seine, and Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB), and recently joined by the University of Ljubljana, today made three announcements which were: the names of two new members of the alliance; the alliance’s name; and the fact that they have chosen the Slovenia’s University of Ljubljana and its Rector Professor Doctor Igor Papič to lead the new alliance’s approach to the European Universities of the future initiative. An initiative first suggested by French President Emmanuel Macron.
