Our research looks at how living cells and enzymes can create industrial products. These can be better for the environment and can even perform better than products made using traditional chemical processes.
The UK is committed to developing a strong bio economy. All activity would come from bio-based products and processes. Our theme aims to help the UK create this economy.

Warwick Integrative Synthetic Biology Centres (WISB)
WISB combines bioscience, engineering, computer science and physical science. Its focus is on theoretical and experimental synthetic biology research. They are on the cutting edge of research.
