Geneva Peace Week
Members of our Spotlight Leadership Team, Briony Jones and Rebecca Morris, co-hosted an event with the UN Research Institute for Social Development (UNRISD) at Geneva Peace Week. The event, ‘Bridging Generations: Co-Creating Solutions for Peace and Social Development’ focused on developing a manifesto for social development in the run up to the 2025 Second World Summit for Social Development. Participants at the event came from academia, research, and civil society, and the discussions focused on social protection, economy, and education. Briony and Rebecca will continue to work with UNRISD on a research paper, and to mentor youth peacemakers from the Geneva area.
Memory Lane Cafe
The Memory Lane cafe initiative was set up by WMS students last year to offer a welcoming space for those affected by dementia. Based in Leamington every Wednesday afternoon, attendees are able to chat and make new friends, undertake a range of activities and have some refreshments. PhD student Bethany Linder has put together the video below to capture the work done by the team. It's great to see the positive impact our students are having with this project. Well done to everyone involved!
