Postgraduate Research Experience Survey (PRES)

PRES 2026: Coming soon

Survey open: 20 April – 8 May 2026

PRES 2026 is your opportunity to share your views on your experience as a research student at the University of Warwick. Your feedback helps us understand what is working well and where we can make improvements to the postgraduate research experience.

The survey takes around 15 minutes to complete, and you will be able to access it on this page, or via your personalised email link.

During the survey period, you will receive a small number of reminder emails encouraging you to take part. Once you have completed the survey, you will no longer receive messages from the Doctoral College, though your department may still contact you about it.

What is PRES?

The Postgraduate Research Experience Survey (PRES) is a major national survey of postgraduate research (PGR) students, run annually by universities across the UK and internationally. It is coordinated by Advance HE and is designed specifically to capture the experiences of doctoral and other research‑degree students.

PRES provides institutions with robust, comparable data on the research student experience.

How has your feedback made a difference?

Your feedback really does make an impact. The results of the Postgraduate Research Experience Survey (PRES) are used at both departmental and institutional levels to understand what’s working well and where improvements are needed to enhance the experience of research students.
