Q - Do you have any more details about the PGR Plenum?

A: I have to say at the moment I don’t have clear details since I would mostly like it to be driven by yourselves and what you feel would meet the needs of PGR colleagues the most.

I suppose my position is that I would like you and colleagues to have greater representation and a greater voice at many tables.

So better representation for a start: secondly small sub groups who have particular areas that they would like further support, further interaction, or just an excuse to meet up to chat- so parents, carers, the Ethnic Minority network group, anything that would be appropriate and that we can support?

Thirdly to have an ‘official community’ – that is evidently yours, has support, has input and just does – and is recognised by the powers that be.

At my previous Uni , people were elected in ( it wasn’t a huge election process by any means ) but it helped give a formal standing to the roles. This is something that can be worked on together – you may want a more collective approach rather than one person, you may not want an election at all- I’m open to suggestions and making them work.

My thoughts are that we would get together people that are interested and then let you discuss what you think would work.

I have a small pot of money to help with admin and maybe teas/coffees when back on campus.

Maybe if you could put this in front of your colleagues and see what they say?
