Writing in Sciences series: The language of STEM writing

his session provides a review of some of the key principles for achieving clarity and concision in STEM-related writing. We will jointly work through some examples where clarity needs to be improved. The session then considers the concept of ‘readability’ and its importance for academic writing. Finally, there will be an opportunity to engage in writing practice, individually and in small groups. The session will be particularly useful for those who are beginning their research projects, or who are at an early stage of writing up.

Who is this for?

This workshop is tailored to PGRs in the STEM disciplines. STEM is an academic term that refers to Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics - and includes disciplines in the life sciences, physical sciences, engineering, mathematics, computer science, and the health sciences.
