Information about past work at the Modern Records Centre is included in our annual reports and information bulletins (available online from 1996/7 to 2016/7). Recordings of several past events are also available - the student-led Open Education Series, 2014-2016, and the schools project Archives Alive, 2016.
Coal Not Dole: exhibition at the MRC
The Modern Records Centre's new exhibition marks the 40th anniversary of the start of the 1984/5 miners' strike and draws on a range of archives held at the Centre, including some material from the recently arrived NUM collection.
Documents on display include material about the effect of the long strike on communities (including in the Coventry area), the work of support groups, and some of the divisions caused by the bitter dispute.
