Assessment types

As part of a study, organised by members of the WIHEA (the Warwick International Higher Education Academy) Inclusive SEM Assessment Learning Circle, we would like your help to group the assessment types in the table below, available as options in the University of Warwick Module Approval Form, into the following 4 categories (you may choose multiple categories for each assessment):

Traditional Type Exam – in person, handwritten, timed and invigilated.

Online Type Exam – remote assessment where papers are hosted and submitted via an online system, rather than in-person. This may include online invigilated exams.

Coursework Assessment – individual or group assessment where the completion time is more than 24 hours and students are free to use a wide variety of self-regulated resources, e.g., seminar notes, lecture slides, independently sourced articles, dictionaries, formula booklets.

Authentic Assessment - have some professional and/or industrial relevance and equip students with skills that they can apply and develop further beyond university.
