Mohammad Nourbakhsh
Background
I am a first-year PhD student in Computer Science, under the Data Science, Systems and SecurityLink opens in a new window theme supervised by Professor Feng HaoLink opens in a new window. My PhD scholarship is funded by the Department of Computer Science, University of Warwick.
I hold a BSc and MSc in Electrical Engineering with first-class degrees from the Isfahan University of Technology.
Before joining the University of Warwick, I worked as a researcher and head of education and awareness group in APA-IUTCERT, an academic CERT of Isfahan University of Technology(IUT).
I am currently involved in research and analysis of the challenges of Decentralized Finance (DeFi).
Research
Decentralized finance (DeFi) belongs to traditional centralized financial tools and services that are now being deployed on blockchain systems using smart contracts. DeFi is in its infancy and has various security challenges. We focus on miner/maximum extractable value (MEV) as a hurdle challenge for DeFi systems that can threaten consensus in the blockchain. Our goal is to analyze MEV and propose solutions to eliminate or mitigate the challenge.
