Yorgos Felekis
About
Yorgos is a PhD student at the Department of Computer Science, supervised by Prof. Theodoros Damoulas . He is also a member of the Warwick Machine Learning Group, and the organiser of the reading group on Advanced topics in Machine Learning, including causality, robustness, and statistical machine learning.
For the 2024/25 academic year, Yorgos will be based at the Alan Turing Institute (ATI) in London, having recently been awarded the Placement Award through the ATI’s Enrichment Scheme.
Research Interests
His research interests lie in the intersection of Probabilistic Machine Learning and Causality. Specifically, his focus is on Causal Representation Learning, Causal Abstractions and the theoretical foundations of causally-inspired Digital Twins and how the later ones could be applied in the fields of social sciences and decision making theory.
