We're taking part in the National Hedgehog Monitoring Programme
On Sunday 29th June, a team of volunteers led by Shannon Watts from the Warwickshire Wildlife Trust placed 30 camera 'traps' around the Innovation Campus at Wellesbourne to monitor the activity of hedgehogs (and other wildlife) over the next month. This is part of the National Hedgehog Monitoring Programme. As far as possible, the cameras are laid out in a grid. Some are close to buildings, whilst others are in agricultural land. Fingers crossed that we 'capture' some hedgehogs - but we're also likely to see brown hares and other mammals.
On Sunday 4th August, another team of volunteers collected up the cameras which are now going to be downloaded. A couple of 'taster' images are below.
