Jiachen Jiang

I am a teaching fellow in the Astronomy and Astrophysics group at the University of Warwick. I am also an X-ray astronomer working on active galactic nuclei and X-ray binaries. Previously, I was a Leverhulme Early Career Fellow at the Institute of Astronomy, University of Cambridge (2022-2024). I was also a College Fellow, Fellow's Steward at St Edmund's College and a member of the governing body of the College. During the pandemic, I spent two years at Tsinghua University as the Tsinghua Astrophysics Outstanding (TAO) Fellow (2020-2022).

Unlike most of the astronomers out there, my childhood had nothing to do with home-built telescopes or star recognition. When I was young, I only knew I was born a Libra, if that accounts for astronomy. I first learned pro astronomy at the University of British Columbia in 2014 as an exchange student. The Astronomical Measurements lectures given by Gary Hinshaw were a big inspiration for me. He taught me what the difference between flux and luminosity is. Somehow, by magic, I was awarded my Bachelor's degree in Physics at Fudan University (复旦大学) in 2016 and PhD in Astronomy at the University of Cambridge in Oct 2019.

My publication can be found here.
