Primary pupils visit Warwick for a taste of university

A very special graduation took place on Friday thanks to the partnership between the University of Warwick and national education charity, IntoUniversity. The graduation ceremony, for Y6 pupils from Frederick Bird Primary School in Coventry, marked the end of a five-day programme designed to give the youngsters a taste of what higher education is all about.

Young people are making decisions about what they plan to do after leaving formal education as early as Year 7 or 8, with parents, teachers and friends being their preferred information sources, according to a new report by the University of Warwick’s Institute for Employment Research for the Department for Education.


Warwick announces new £10 million Warwick Scholars programme for up to 500 Midlands young people each year

The University of Warwick will announce today (Tuesday 14th May 2019) a transformational new £10 million social mobility programme - Warwick Scholars - that aims to change the lives of hundreds of Midlands young people who have the potential to study at Warwick, one of the world’s top 100 ranked universities, but who may face social or economic barriers to entering Warwick. The new programme includes admissions offers up to 4 grades below Warwick’s standard A level offer.
