Funding August 2022 - July 2023

The Food GRP is now able to offer funding for Warwick staff and postgraduates

of £500 - £1,000 during the period 1 August 2022 – 31 July 2023

Our grants of up to £1000 can be applied for throughout the year and need to be spent by 31 July 2023. We welcome innovative food and drink proposals relating to one or more of the following:
• Project pump priming
• Benefits to the public or cultural sphere
• Running workshops / conferences and building networks
• Initiatives led by PGR / ECR
• Link to one of our 3 priority themes outlined below (although others are equally welcome):

Food Security - We aim to find solutions to manage the uncertainty of food security in the UK. Our work contributes to research helping governments manage food uncertainty. We bring together experts in the food system to build new forecasting methods. We think about the impacts of events such as nuclear accidents and terrorist attacks.

Healthy Food - We examine the implications of food on our health. Our NHS spends £5.8 billion a year on diseases associated with poor diet. We are developing and evaluating interventions to help people make the healthy choice, the easy choice but also the cheap choice. We are also looking at ways to improve the food we grow here in the UK.

Food and Drink Cultures - Eating and drinking are two of the most fundamental human activities. We bring together food- and drink-related research, particularly in the arts and humanities, with an emphasis on public engagement. Key aspects of our work include material culture, literary / visual representations, social meanings and changes over time.

Please complete this Funding Form and submit it by email to the foodgrpteam@warwick.ac.uk. You will receive a response to your application within approximately two weeks.
