Checking In With PGRs
Thank you to everyone who completed our survey in 2021!
We know that the Covid-19 pandemic has been a stressful period for everyone so we were keen to get a sense of how our PGR community was feeling. As the word cloud on the right shows, there was a huge range of emotions across the community. Many mentioned being tired or worried, feeling lonely or stressed. However, a few also reported feeling well or lucky.
As part of the survey, we wanted to know how we could help you. Here are some of the things you asked about and some answers to your questions.
Wellbeing

Community and social events

Help with writing
Researcher Development runs a programme throughout the year; taking your from sentence construction to writing bids and grant applications.
RDO Writing Support tells you more and shows you what workshops are coming up in the next 10 weeks.
The Library runs a series called Write Here, Write Now, with workshops running through the year.
Financial support
The university offers a PGR Hardship Fund to PGRs experiencing unforeseen circumstances.
