How do I use this calendar?

You can click on an event to display further information about it.

The toolbar above the calendar has buttons to view different events. Use the left and right arrow icons to view events in the past and future. The button inbetween returns you to today's view. The button to the right of this shows a mini-calendar to let you quickly jump to any date.

The dropdown box on the right allows you to see a different view of the calendar, such as an agenda or a termly view.

If this calendar has tags, you can use the labelled checkboxes at the top of the page to select just the tags you wish to view, and then click "Show selected". The calendar will be redisplayed with just the events related to these tags, making it easier to find what you're looking for.

Reflection and Reflexivity as a Researcher - RD Online
Microsoft Teams

Reflective practice, analytical reflection and (particularly) reflexivity, are generally recognised as the core characteristics of research and teaching practice. Reflective Practice can enable practitioners to learn from the experience of themselves, their work, and how they relate to home and work, significant others and wider society and culture. Reflection involves reliving and recurring: who said and did what, how, when, where, and why. Reflection may lead to insight into something that has not been noticed in time, perhaps pointing out when the detail has been missed.

Reflexivity is a strategy to question our own attitudes, thought processes, values, assumptions, prejudices and habitual actions, to try to understand our complex roles in relation to others. Reflexivity involves thinking from within experiences ‘turned or reflected back upon the mind itself’. Reflective practice and reflexivity are therefore a valuable developmental process for any professional or researcher.

In this session, we will examine key features of reflection, introduce a number of models of reflective practice (such as the Gibbs model), understand how reflective practice can help you learn and what tools you can use to support reflective learning. In addition, we are going to cover how to be reflexive and how mindfulness can help you to achieve better reflexivity. Lastly, to be reflective and reflexive practitioner it is crucial to practice this skill. Therefore, all PGRS will have a chance to put in the practice their reflectivity and reflexivity.

All sessions are on line in Microsoft Teams. Please book as usual on Skills Forge. We will add you to the event, and it will appear in your Teams calendar the day before. On the day/ time, just click on the link and it will take you in
