How do I use this calendar?

You can click on an event to display further information about it.

The toolbar above the calendar has buttons to view different events. Use the left and right arrow icons to view events in the past and future. The button inbetween returns you to today's view. The button to the right of this shows a mini-calendar to let you quickly jump to any date.

The dropdown box on the right allows you to see a different view of the calendar, such as an agenda or a termly view.

If this calendar has tags, you can use the labelled checkboxes at the top of the page to select just the tags you wish to view, and then click "Show selected". The calendar will be redisplayed with just the events related to these tags, making it easier to find what you're looking for.

Research Methods Series A (complete beginners) guide data handling: What is mean, mode, median and range?

A standalone series, but also to support our understanding of research integrity & ethics; the research methods series will give overviews of qualitative and quantitative or mixed methods; why some researchers will adopt certain methods; and why some approaches are more suitable than others.

Whether you are currently deciding which approach to use; want to understand why a researcher has utilised a methodology that you are not familiar with; or even decide why you will NOT be using a particular method, then this series will cover these questions and more. If we have a broader understanding of why people use different approaches, then we can understand how integrity & ethics impacts in different research areas.

The sessions will provide an overview; signposts to follow up on specific areas; the positives and negatives of different approaches. You will need to speak to your department for full research methodology training in your chosen practice.

You can attend the whole series or just pick the ones of specific interest.

Understanding your upgrade

Many of us are asked to go through an upgrade process after our first year. This takes us from MPhil to PhD study process. It allows us and colleagues to reflect on the previous year, research knowledge gained, and plans for the next stages.

The session will inform you of the University’s criteria for a successful upgrade process and help prepare you for it. The facilitators will share their own experiences of passing upgrade process and provide you with particular tips and advice that will be useful for you to understand what your need to do and how to successfully pass your own upgrade.

By the end of the workshop, you should be able to:

- Have a better understanding of what is the upgrade process

- Gain practical tips on how to prepare for your upgrade

- Reflect on progress made during your upgrade

Superb-Vision Network- Workshop 3 - Problem-solving (online)
Microsoft Teams

The Superb-Vision Network is a new project that aims to bring together a diversity of doctoral students from different disciplinary backgrounds to share their supervision experiences: stories, challenges, successes and resources!

As doctoral students at Warwick, we are excited to be initiating such a network with the sponsorship of Warwick Doctoral College. Join us for a series of face to face and online networking events in term 2 to explore how to develop a productive relationship with your supervisor; what to do if something goes wrong; and what support is available. This is a great opportunity to connect with doctoral students from across the university and learn how to take a proactive, empowering stance in making your supervision superb!

Find out more about the network in this short video: tinyurl.com/superbvision-video

Please join our Teams page for more information and to ask any questions: tinyurl.com/superb-vision
