CANCELLED Quantitative survey research methods - Workshop
CANCELLED
We regret having to cancel this workshop owing to low numbers.
We hope to be able to run a similar event in the future
Description
This workshop is aimed at anyone who is starting to work with survey data or expects to do so in the future. While there are many specific courses available for working with particular software and writing specific code, less information is available about the survey research process. This workshop aims to plug this gap by addressing parts of the research lifecycle, including planning the work and analysis, conducting the analysis and keeping a record of the results, and ensuring that the work remains reproducible.
The workshop combines presentations and practical sessions. Topics covered will include:
- Good practice for organising the data analysis workflow (e.g. file structure, naming conventions, version control, etc.)
- First approaches to working with the data (cleaning, descriptive statistics)
- Initial analyses (e.g. regression analysis) and presentation of results
We will be using Stata software for the workshop, but the principles apply equally well to R or to SPSS packages.
Provisional programme (tbc)
