Institutional Research Support Fund 2020/2021

The current financial position of the University means that the Research Development Fund and Humanities Research Fund have been temporarily paused during the period 01 August 2020 – 31 July 2021. However, to support researchers to access funding for ‘business critical’ spend during this period, an institutional Research Support Fund has been established.

This will grant internal awards up to a maximum of £5,000 in the following areas:

  • Seed-corn funding to support new projects leading to external grant applications to prestigious research funders
  • Open Access costs*
  • Publishing costs including image copyright
  • Membership of research consortia and networks

*Applicants whose research is supported by UK Research Councils or COAF Partners should apply to the Library's Open Access grant scheme. If you are not eligible for this scheme then you should apply to the IRSF. Please indicate in your application if you have applied to the Library’s Open Access grant scheme.

Applications to the IRSF fund should have HoD approval and must be submitted via the attached form to researchstrategydev@warwick.ac.uk from your Head of Department by 5pm on Friday 27 November 2020, and the decision expected on Friday 11 January 2021.
