514 nm Raman Laser moving
The 514.5 nm Laser has now been moved from the Renishaw InVia to the Horiba LabRam Spectrometer allowing users of the 514 nm laser to access the increased functionality of that system.
Cryogen Free cooling
We are delighted to announce the deliver of a Cold Edge Stinger cooling system. The new system will be able to provide temperature down to 4K on our Raman, Pl, EPR and Optical absorption spectrometers without using liquid helium.
Gold Leaf status awarded
The Spectroscopy RTP is delighted to have been awarded a gold LEAF award for 2024. The LEAF initiative aims to help improve the sustainability and efficiency of laboratories.
Power Outage in Millburn House
There will be a power shutdown on Friday 24 May in Millburn house as part of the work for the new NMR magnet. The spectroscopy Lab will be closed to users from midday on Wednesday 22nd May till midday on the the Tuesday 29th to allow for shut down and start of of the spectrometer. It is advised that all users stay away form the building on the 24th till the 29th.
