How do I use this calendar?

You can click on an event to display further information about it.

The toolbar above the calendar has buttons to view different events. Use the left and right arrow icons to view events in the past and future. The button inbetween returns you to today's view. The button to the right of this shows a mini-calendar to let you quickly jump to any date.

The dropdown box on the right allows you to see a different view of the calendar, such as an agenda or a termly view.

If this calendar has tags, you can use the labelled checkboxes at the top of the page to select just the tags you wish to view, and then click "Show selected". The calendar will be redisplayed with just the events related to these tags, making it easier to find what you're looking for.

Researcher Development- Part-time PhD: How to juggle work, life & research
Microsoft Teams

Part time responsibilities: How to juggle work, life & research

If doing a PhD wasn't tough enough, you've chosen to do it around other commitments. It maybe that your research is about your career or role; or it could be that life commitments make it impossible to take 3-4 years to focus on your research entirely. It could be that you've decided to take a couple of years part time and return to full time in a few years time ( this is how one of our RD Team completed her PhD)

Whatever your reason/s a part time PhD is a juggle and spinning plates. Keeping everything working, looking after yourself and other commitments and keeping up with your research life requires priority setting, time management and clear time away from your research to make breakthroughs. Work with your other part time colleagues to discuss best practice, realistic and workable ideas and how to maintain your wellbeing!

Essential.
