Pathways to employability? Career development for marginalised migrant women
Ahead of International Women’s Day (8 March), the Afghanistan and Central Asian Association (ACAA) hosted an ‘Empowering Marginalised Women conference’ at the Houses of Parliament on Monday 4 March.

Shortlist in UK Career Development Awards for two CDCS students
The UK Career Development Awards 2019 takes place on March 6 and two Centre for Lifelong Learning students have received nominations. The awards showcase and celebrate the very best UK-wide practice in career development, with three major categories and ten individual awards. This year we are celebrating two of our students being shortlisted in the awards, both for Research Undertaken by a Careers Professional in the Best Practice Technology and Research Awards.
Emotional Resilience – Presentation to the Universities Council for the Education of Teachers (UCET)
Two members of the CLL team have been invited by Universities' Council for the Education of Teachers (UCET) to share with other ITE colleagues, their work on developing resilience in trainee teachers using emotional resilience and techniques found in the study of mindfulness. The presentation will take place in London on Friday 8 February 2019, with Ellen Buttler, Director of Initial Teacher Training and Essential Skills Programmes and Dean Howes, Teaching Fellow at the Centre sharing how students can better understand how to develop their ability to cope during emotionally challenging and stressful times.
