C5 Blended mobility of higher education students
The principal objective of C5 is to serve as a learning activity to support the development of the resources for Making Construals (MC) that take the form of a curriculum ("the MCC"), an environment ("the MCE") and online materials ("the MCM"). As reference to the project timetable indicates, C5 runs in parallel with the first of a series of Virtual Workshop activities through which we shall engage online students interested in making construals. Attendees at C5 will subsequently be able to continue their MC studies through online engagement for which dedicated support will be available in conjunction with other scheduled teaching, learning and training activities, such as C8 at SciFest in April 2015 and C14 at Edumotiva in May 2015.
The primary focus for C5 is on the most fundamental aspects of the MCC - identified as MC1a and MC1b respectively on p30 of the project proposal:
- the principles and concepts for making construals
- the principles of construal comprehension
The form and content of C5 has been informed by experience and feedback from the initial Intensive Study Programme for teaching staff C1. The learning activities, which will be led by MC experts and monitored by MC consultants, represent an opportunity to give feedback on the current prototype resources for making construals with particular attention to topics MC1a and MC1b. Suggestions that can guide the future development of these resources and assist in their evaluation and deployment, especially at C8 and C14, are most welcome.
The sessions will relate to slides from the Progression of Ideas presentation introduced in C1 and refer to the online course being prototyped using Moodle at the url: http://ias2.dcs.warwick.ac.uk/construit/course/view.php?id=3
