Dr Laura Boothman
Laura joined the IER in January 2026. She extends the reach and impact of IER’s work through communications, stakeholder engagement and influencing activity.
Laura’s experience includes roles across health and wider public policy with a particular interest in employment of people with long-term conditions (musculoskeletal and mental health). She has worked for the Academy of Medical Sciences, Arthritis UK, the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry, the Department of Health, the Health Foundation and the Institute of Cancer Research. She enjoys working in collaboration and using evidence to tackle inequality.
Laura began her career as a research scientist and holds a DPhil in Pharmacology from the University of Oxford.
