Employers' behavioural reaction to the apprenticeship levy
IER - in conjunction with IFF Research – undertook this study, on behalf of the Department for Business Innovation and Skills, looking at likely employer responses to the introduction of the Apprenticeship Levy. The research was led by Dr. Lynn Gambin, a vocational education and training (VET) expert, in conjunction with Terence Hogarth. The introduction of the Levy is one of the major innovations in VET policy over recent decades. The study built upon Gambin and Hogarth’s substantial programme of work which has assessed how employers view the risk of investing in VET.
