Economic and social benefits of vocational education and training

The aim of this study was to assess the social/non-material benefits of VET for sectors in the short-, medium- and long- term. The study reviewed, analysed and synthesised relevant research literature, developed a new conceptual/theoretical framework of the social returns to VET and designed an empirical model to specify the independent and dependent variables required to estimate the social benefits of VET. This was supported by econometric modelling as well as interviews and case studies.
