Development of an online, interactive LMI module

IER was commissioned to structure and develop a free-standing learning CPD module that focuses on labour market information (LMI) provided by EU Skills, that would complement the existing on-line learning module on labour market information (housed on the University of Warwick website), which is endorsed by OCR as learning support materials for levels 4 and 6 and also links closely to the STEM online module.

The main objectives of the project were to develop:

  • a framework for an EU Skills module in LMI learning as a self-directed learning programme for continuing professional development (CPD) for careers influencers (as defined by EU Skills) working with target groups (as specified by EU Skills);
  • the module structure, identifying relevant sector specific LMI;
  • integrate sector specific LMI within robust teaching and learning approach; and
  • identify technological enhancements that would include interactive and multi-media (for example: visualisations; audio; video; questionnaires; simulations; infographics).

Module 1, Getting going with careers information, of the Energy and Utilities online CPD resource can be accessed on the NGRF website.
