Measuring change in the graduate labour market

Over the past 25 years the number of highly qualified people in the labour force has increased sigificantly. This has raised important questions about the interaction between the supply of and demand for graduates. Are graduates finding jobs which make use of their graduate skills and degree-level knowledge?

To explore this issue we introduce a new classification of occupations, specifically designed to capture information about the changing nature of work. We use this classification to present results from analyses of trends in occupational structure and the career paths of graduates over the last twenty five years.
