In order to cater for students who wish to engage in career-related learning, the International Baccalaureate launched a new innovative education framework for students aged 16 to 19, the International Baccalaureate Career-related Certificate (IBCC). The aim of the IBCC is to provide students with both an academic and practical foundation to support both their further studies and specialised training, thereby ensuring their success in the workforce.

The research project aims

• to explore the experiences of students who have recently completed the IB Career-related Certificate (IBCC);
• to document the post-secondary destinations of IBCC students, and
• to investigate the contribution of the IBCC to student-post secondary outcomes.

The survey is now closed.

The project will target a total of approximately 370 students who were awarded the IBCC in August 2014. In addition to a quantitative survey of former IBCC students, we are also using qualitative data from selected former IBCC students, case studies, and qualitative data from university/college/training admission officers and employers.
