The study will focus on the job search practices of different groups of benefit claimants (JSA claimants, IB claimants, and IS claimants who are lone parents). The objectives of the project will be to clarify the differences in the job search practices of different DWP sub-groups and compare their relative effectiveness in leading to the take-up of jobs, and to indicate the factors which contribute to or hinder effective job search, including an assessment of the impact of Jobcentre Plus advice and guidance services.
