Surveying Employment Practices

This project will involve integrating data from four parallel large-scale national surveys of multinational companies (MNCs) and employment practice into one comprehensive comparative database, providing a unique opportunity to analyse the behaviour of MNCs in and across different national contexts. The dataset will be used to explore cross-national comparative issues that are difficult to explore within the confines of a single national survey but which are vital to an understanding of the international operations of MNCs.

This project is being led by King’s College London, in collaboration with Warwick Business School and De Montfort University. Duncan Adam in IER is undertaking tasks relating to the construction of the international dataset and will be involved in the creation of comparative variables from the UK dataset, the merging of national datasets and the checking of the resulting dataset.
