Migration and Construction in the UK: Study 4

This project aims to provide CITB and its stakeholders with robust, reliable information on the current use of non-UK origin workers in the construction sector, and the likely implications of future policy relating to restricted access to workers from the EU. The work will update the 2017, 2018, and 2019 studies conducted for the CITB by IFFResearch in collaboration with City-REDI(at the University of Birmingham) and the Institute of Employment Research. While similar in scope and method, it includes interviews with representative bodies for the self-employed as a new addition for 2020. The IER contribution is to create a quantitive profile of migrant workers in the UK construction industry and of trends in migration of construction workers.
