Light-activated cancer drugs without toxic side effects: fresh insight

Future cancer drugs that are activated by light and don’t cause the toxic side-effects of current chemotherapy treatments are closer to becoming a reality, thanks to new research made possible by the Monash Warwick Alliance, an intercontinental collaboration between the University of Warwick (UK) and Monash University (Australia).

 


Sibling bullying makes psychotic disorders three times more likely

People who were bullied by siblings during childhood are up to three times more likely to develop psychotic disorders such as schizophrenia in early adulthood, according to new research by the University of Warwick.


Warwick Arts Centre awarded major capital funding for 20:20 Project

Warwick Arts Centre has been awarded £4.2m in National Lottery funding from Arts Council England towards its 20:20 capital project.

Playwright and actor Alecky Blythe honoured by University of Warwick

Award-winning playwright Alecky Blythe, pioneer of the verbatim technique in which real people’s words are faithfully delivered on stage by actors, has received an Honorary Doctorate from the University of Warwick.

Blythe, who has brought sieges, sex work, riots and murder to the stage through her own theatre company, was made an Honorary Doctor of Letters at the University’s 2018 Winter Graduations.


Warwick's new Sports Hub 'topped out'

A new multi-million pound Sports Hub at the University of Warwick is one step closer to completion after contractor Willmott Dixon hosted a topping out ceremony today, which traditionally signifies the structure has reached its maximum height.
