Warwick gets share of £2.6 million research funding from Diabetes UK

Diabetes UK has committed to invest £2.6 million in 19 brand new projects including one at the University's School of life Sciences.


Warwick Law School teaching fellow wins British Academy Rising Star Engagement Award 2018

Dr Andi Hoxhaj, Teaching Fellow in the University of Warwick Law School, has won a British Academy Rising Star Engagement Award. The prestigious award will support Dr Hoxhaj’s work on anti-corruption policy and the rule of law with a particular focus on the Western Balkans, the UK and the EU.


More Leverhulme Success for University

Another member of the University of Warwick Department of Sociology has been awarded a prestigious Philip Leverhulme Prize in the 2017 awards round. Dr Maria do Mar Pereira’s prize brings the University’s total to five, out of just thirty prizes awarded nationally this year across different disciplines.

Warwick academic honoured with British Sociological Association Distinguished Service award

Professor John Solomos from the University of Warwick Department of Sociology has been given this year’s Distinguished Service to British Sociology Award, an award made each year by the British Sociological Association to an outstanding individual who has contributed greatly to the discipline.

Ford cars could be more fuel efficient and environmentally friendly, thanks to a new lightweight rear suspension component, designed by the award-winning Innovate UK project Composite Lightweight Automotive Suspension System (CLASS), involving WMG at the University of Warwick.


Playwright and actor Alecky Blythe honoured by University of Warwick

Award-winning playwright Alecky Blythe, pioneer of the verbatim technique in which real people’s words are faithfully delivered on stage by actors, has received an Honorary Doctorate from the University of Warwick.

Blythe, who has brought sieges, sex work, riots and murder to the stage through her own theatre company, was made an Honorary Doctor of Letters at the University’s 2018 Winter Graduations.
