Power Outage in Millburn House
There will be a power shutdown on Friday 24 May in Millburn house as part of the work for the new NMR magnet. The spectroscopy Lab will be closed to users from midday on Wednesday 22nd May till midday on the the Tuesday 29th to allow for shut down and start of of the spectrometer. It is advised that all users stay away form the building on the 24th till the 29th.
Warwick Research Celebration Award
Congratulation to the Spectroscopy RTP manager for winning the Research enabler award at The Warwick Research Celebration.
New Lighting Install
The work to improve to improve the lighting in the lab is proceeding well. The new lighting should provide improved lighting in the lab and the more efficient LED lighting will also help reduce our Carbon foot print.
Lab Closure
he Spectroscopy RTP Lab will be closed from the Monday 11th of September until Monday 18th of September for the essential maintenance on the lighting in the lab. There will be no access to equipment in the lab during this period, including PCs etc. please plan your experiments accordingly.
Spectrometer changes February 9th - 27th
The Renishaw Invia (325,442,633) [Ernie] spectrometer will be unavailable for booking from Monday 13th of February until noon on Monday 27th of February whilst it is performing a long and complex set of measurements.
Also during this period Renishaw Invia (514.5, 785 ) [Bert] will have the remote/automated XY stage installed and will be able to perform mapping measurements but be aware that the system will still have a manual Z.
