Become a Mentor
Who is eligible to apply?
The programme is open to mentors who have an established career and gained experience in the world of work, from any sector or industry, however varied your career. As a mentor you will be keen to help students from widening participation, ethnic minorities or care leaver backgrounds progress their career and personal development.
University of Warwick staff are welcome to apply to be a mentor, so long as this would not cause a conflict of interest in your current role. We would recommend you read through the guidebook to fully understand the mentor role and approach your line manager to ensure they are happy for you to commit to the programme.
Benefits to becoming a mentor
- Give back to students starting out in their career journey through sharing your experience and wisdom
- Provide invaluable support to students to enable them to grow in confidence and develop both their professional and personal skills
- Access to programme related training to support you in your role as a mentor
- Become part of a network of mentors working with the University of Warwick
Mentoring can be a very rewarding experience, through sharing your experience with mentees you can be positively impacting the future of another person who may not have been able to access this support or advice elsewhere.
