Your academic department or centre of doctoral training is the best first place to investigate the possibility of funding expenses that relate to your postgraduate studies, including Research Support Training Grants affiliated with some scholarships. Other internal and external opportunities to fund your research-related expenses and opportunities are listed below.

Canadian Centennial Scholarship Fund Proving up to £5000 to Canadian nationals perusing a multi-year postgraduate degree in the UK.
Cumberland Lodge Fellowship 2024-2026 - Applications are open for the Cumberland Lodge Fellowship 2023-2025, offering doctoral students the opportunity to work with the charity on addressing the causes and effects of social division, and working towards more open and inclusive societies.
ECR Small Grant Scheme 2024-2025 – Health Spotlight - The ECR small grant scheme from the Health Spotlight offers funding for pump-priming, dissemination, small scale data collection, networking activities or skills development projects up to a maximum of £2,000. These projects need to be conducted in collaboration with a researcher from another discipline and funds must be spent by 31st July 2025. Deadline for applications: 14 December 2024.
G-Research PhD Prize in Maths & Data Science - Providing up to £10,000, open to final or penultimate year PhD students working in a relevant research area.
Humanities Research Centre Doctoral Fellowships Providing up to £1200 to organise a one-day interdisciplinary Post-Graduate Conference.
IATL Project Support Providing up to £10,000 for projects which support the University's Education Strategy.
Leverhulme Postgraduate Bursaries Providing up to £5000 to UK university students, who are in financial need and have a parent or spouse or are employed themselves, as a commercial traveller, pharmacist or grocer.
Networking Fund Providing up to £300 to build and disseminate research networks.
Postgrad Solutions Study Bursaries worth £500 each towards your postgraduate studies for the upcoming academic year.
Sasakawa Japanese Studies Postgraduate Bursaries providing up to £10,000 to applicant and current PGTs and PGRs.
